# IVDC: 300 MW in phase one, 1.8 GW at full build

Ready for development · power already on site

IVDC, the Imperial Valley Data Center, is a heavy-industrial property in Imperial County, California with biomass generation already operating on site, the water rights that come with it, and an existing grid interconnect. Data storage is a permitted use in its zone. Phase one takes the campus to 300 MW gross with turbines, 100 MW of solar and 100 MW of battery storage; the site can grow to 1.8 GW. SAVRN builds it in SAVRN Atom blocks.

Power

## The power plan

IVDC starts with generation that already runs on the property. Phase one adds turbines, 100 MW of solar and 100 MW of battery storage to reach 300 MW gross; later phases grow the site to 1.8 GW.

- BiomassExisting biomass generation on site, about 39 MW today, with its own water rights and interconnect.
- Solar100 MW of solar on one of the strongest solar resources in the country, about 5.7 kWh per square meter per day.
- Battery storage100 MW of battery storage (BESS) to firm the solar and carry the load through peaks.
- TurbinesTurbines add firm generation alongside the biomass and solar, sized phase by phase.
- GridAn existing interconnect to the Imperial Irrigation District, which runs its own balancing authority, with 500 kV transmission in the area.
- Natural gasNatural gas at or near the site.

Scale

Phase one: about 23 blocks · 300 MW gross Phase one is about 23 SAVRN Atom blocks at 13.2 MW gross each, about 300 MW gross. Later phases continue block by block to 1.8 GW. First blockLater blocks · 13.2 MW gross each

Connectivity

## Fiber and access

- Fiber corridorThe site fronts the Valley's main fiber corridor, where California's open-access middle-mile network is being built.
- Existing fiberExisting telecom fiber runs through the area; the carrier entrance is confirmed in the site package.
- Rail and highwayRail within about 2.4 miles; a state highway at the site.

Site conditions

## Screened with SAVRN Site Intelligence

Each condition comes from public federal and state records at the saved site, screened by [SAVRN Site Intelligence](https://savrn.com/intelligence/sites).

| Zoning | Heavy industrial with a renewable energy overlay; data storage permitted |
| --- | --- |
| Water | Biomass water rights on site; data center uses closed-loop cooling and water only for people |
| Flood | FEMA Zone X, minimal flood hazard |
| Land | Flat (about 0.3% grade) |
| Seismic | High seismic zone: designed to California code |
| Climate | Hot desert: closed-loop, dry or hybrid cooling |
