# Open-Weight Models

An open-weight model is an AI model whose trained weights are published for anyone to download. The weights are what the model learned in training. With a copy of them you can run the model on hardware you control and train it further on your own data.

Open weights are not the same as open source. Many publishers release the weights without the training data or code, and the license sets what you may do with the model. This library puts each model's full card, architecture, files, license and published evaluations on one page.

[Alanliang](https://savrn.com/model-publishers/alan314159)

This model was converted to GGUF format from Qwen/Qwen3-VL-Embedding-2B using llama.cpp via the ggml.ai's GGUF-my-repo space. Refer to the original model card for more details on the model. Install llama.cpp through brew (works on Mac and Linux) Invoke the llama.cpp server or the CLI. Note: You can also use this checkpoint directly through the usage steps listed in the Llama.cpp repo as well. Step 2: Move into the llama.cpp folder and build it with LLAMACURL=1 flag along with other hardware-specific flags (for ex: LLAMACUDA=1 for Nvidia GPUs on Linux).

llama.cpp GGUF files of Qwen/Qwen3.5-0.8B quantized with DASH-Q, at several 2-bit-class sizes. Every file uses only standard llama.cpp tensor types (no tensor above 4 bits) and loads in any recent llama.cpp build. llama-perplexity, context 2048; WikiText-2 test, C4 validation (256 x 2048 tokens). On a laptop running Debian 13 Linux, with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, its integrated Arc GPU and 32 GB of memory, Janas-LLM reads a prompt at 799 tok/s and writes at 109 tok/s: llama.cpp, on the same laptop, 519 and 32. Measured on 9-11 October 2026: llama-bench -p 1024 -n 16 and janas-bench --prompt 1024 --gen 16, both at their best configuration. On other machines the figures will differ. [Fuk Kwang](https://savrn.com/model-publishers/tfukkwang)

A small in-browser assistant for complex work apps, without a chat box. It runs in the background with WebLLM: after each pause in the user's work it calls the app's tools one after another (ReAct), and the app shows what the calls produce (the next step, a filled form, an insight, a summary, the day's overview). The model never writes text: the app's code writes every word and number from its data. Download: 0.43 GB. This is the f16 build: it needs the WebGPU shader-f16 feature. The f32 build has the same weights and runs on any WebGPU. Other build: tfukkwang/Qwen3.5-0.8B-quiet-assistant-v1-q4f321-MLC. [Snowy Autumn](https://savrn.com/model-publishers/snowyautumn)

A Qwen3.5-2B backbone extended with DNA reading. Paste a gene sequence between and tags and ask about it in plain English. It can report gene type, organism domain, length and GC content, and describe what a sequence shows. It also continues DNA spans when asked. Two extra tokens (, ) bracket the sequence. Anything outside the tags is normal chat, and the model answers that normally. This modified version of Qwen3.5-2B includes an additional small custom DNA model that's been trained separately, and then inserted into the model's architecture, with projection layers in between the two to get a representation of the latter's tokens into the former's token space, and the vision tower has been…

### [Qwen3.5-2B-RCOL](https://savrn.com/models/qwen3-5-2b-rcol)

[Jack Jusko](https://savrn.com/model-publishers/trubisky)

This repository contains several different dynamic low-bit quantizations of Qwen 3.5-2B. These quantizations were created with the RCOL (RCO - lite) algorithm, which is an experimental approximation version of ISTALab's RCO method. The principles of the algorithm can be found below. RCO‑lite (RCOL) A cheap stand‑in for RCO, the outer type‑allocation loop of ISTA's GSQ+RCO quantizer. RCO picks one GGUF quant type per tensor (Q4K, IQ3S, …) so the whole model minimizes end‑to‑end KL divergence from a BF16 teacher under an exact size budget - same target as traditional RCO. Full RCO does this with Gumbel‑STE and a Riemannian budget‑manifold search; RCO‑lite makes the absolute best approximation…

This is the model card of a transformers model that has been pushed on the Hub. Users (both direct and downstream) should be made aware of the risks, biases and limitations of the model. Use the code below to get started with the model. Carbon emissions can be estimated using the Machine Learning Impact calculator presented in Lacoste et al. (2019).

[Islam Assanov](https://savrn.com/model-publishers/islamassanov)

This is Qwen3.5-2B auto-optimized by Claude Fable for fast single-request text generation. Fable built and tuned the included qwen35fast inference engine while keeping Qwen's original BF16 weights unchanged. Across 12 development workloads, the Fable engine delivered 14× the decode speed of Transformers eager and 1.02× the speed of vLLM with MTP (geometric means). On 12 held-out workloads, it reached 528–866 tokens/s and 1.01× vLLM with MTP. Use Python 3.12 and an NVIDIA CUDA GPU. Download the model and install its dependencies: The original checkpoint also works with Transformers for Qwen's standard text and vision-language workflows; the speed figures above use qwen35fast. - Captured the…

Models whose publisher-reported parameter count puts them within reach of a single accelerator at common precisions. Memory needed depends on precision and serving configuration, so treat the parameter count as the starting point, not the answer.

## Open-Weight Models Explained

### What is an open-weight model?

An AI model whose trained weights are published for anyone to download, so it can be run, tested and fine-tuned on hardware the user controls.

### Is an open-weight model the same as open source?

Not always. Open weights means the trained model can be downloaded. Open source usually also means the training code and data are available and the license allows broad reuse. Many open-weight models release the weights only.

### Can I use an open-weight model commercially?

It depends on the license. Apache 2.0 and MIT allow commercial use. Other licenses limit it, for example to non-commercial use or below a set number of users. Every model page here shows its license.

### How much memory does an open-weight model need?

About two bytes per parameter at 16-bit precision, so a 7-billion-parameter model needs roughly 14 GB for its weights, plus memory for the context it processes. Each model page lists its parameter count and the size of its files.
