# Open-Weight Models

An open-weight model is an AI model whose trained weights are published for anyone to download. The weights are what the model learned in training. With a copy of them you can run the model on hardware you control and train it further on your own data.

Open weights are not the same as open source. Many publishers release the weights without the training data or code, and the license sets what you may do with the model. This library puts each model's full card, architecture, files, license and published evaluations on one page.

[Hallford](https://savrn.com/model-publishers/ehraim)

One frozen public checkpoint is loaded at a time on a 24 GB GPU. A hash router picks it. Optional chains pass text from one expert to the next. A bag of those chains votes on the final string. A separate 128-dimensional cache, shared only by the routers, can slide along the chain. This repository is an assembly of published methods. It does not introduce a new routing, memory, or decoding algorithm. The bibliography at the bottom is the full set of ideas used in the code. Upstream weight files keep their own licenses and are not redistributed here. A request is hashed into a bag of word ids. A small classifier scores 138 expert ids. Confidence under 0.45 selects the int4 14B coder. An image…

[Tatsuki Tsujimoto](https://savrn.com/model-publishers/ttktjmt)

What the mjswan demo loads. These files live here rather than in the repository, so a clone stays small and a build fetches what it needs. The scenes mjlab supplies as tasks — G1, Go1, Yam, cartpole — are deliberately not under scenes/: addscenemjlab assembles those from the task itself. What is here is the one scene mjlab has no task for, and the trained policies, which no package ships. Needs pip install mjswan[hf]. Nothing here requires mjlab or torch to load — those are needed only to build a scene from an mjlab task. Every ONNX under checkpoints/ carries mjlab's metadataprops except the two cartpole tasks, whose environment has no robot entity and no jointpos action term for mjlab's…

## Open-Weight Models Explained

### What is an open-weight model?

An AI model whose trained weights are published for anyone to download, so it can be run, tested and fine-tuned on hardware the user controls.

### Is an open-weight model the same as open source?

Not always. Open weights means the trained model can be downloaded. Open source usually also means the training code and data are available and the license allows broad reuse. Many open-weight models release the weights only.

### Can I use an open-weight model commercially?

It depends on the license. Apache 2.0 and MIT allow commercial use. Other licenses limit it, for example to non-commercial use or below a set number of users. Every model page here shows its license.

### How much memory does an open-weight model need?

About two bytes per parameter at 16-bit precision, so a 7-billion-parameter model needs roughly 14 GB for its weights, plus memory for the context it processes. Each model page lists its parameter count and the size of its files.
