## Runs On

What it takes to serve Qwen3-Embedding-4B (4B parameters): the memory its weights need at each precision, and the cheapest way to rent enough data-center GPUs to hold them.

Memory is the weights at that precision plus 20% for the runtime and a short context; a long context needs more. Prices are the lowest on-demand hourly rates in the [SAVRN Index](https://savrn.com/ai-index/pricing/gpus), read Oct 24, 2026.

## SAVRN's Notes on Qwen3-Embedding-4B

Qwen3 Embedding 4B turns text into vectors for search and retrieval, built on the Qwen3 language model and supporting many languages with a 40,960-token window. It sits between the 0.6B and 8B models in the same series and draws about 2.1 million downloads a month.

It needs about 10 GB at 16-bit. Apache 2.0 allows commercial use. For retrieval quality close to the top of the series at half the cost of the 8B model, this is the size we would test first.

## Highlights The Qwen3 Embedding model series is the latest proprietary model of the Qwen family, specifically designed for text embedding and ranking tasks. Building upon the dense foundational models of the Qwen3 series, it provides a comprehensive range of text embeddings and reranking models in various sizes (0.6B, 4B, and 8B). This series inherits the exceptional multilingual capabilities, long-text understanding, and reasoning skills of its foundational model. The Qwen3 Embedding series represents significant advancements in multiple text embedding and ranking tasks, including text retrieval, code retrieval, text classification, text clustering, and bitext mining. **Exceptional Versatility**: The embedding model has achieved state-of-the-art performance across a wide range of downstream application evaluations. The 8B size embedding model ranks **No.1** in the MTEB multilingual leaderboard (as of June 5, 2025, score **70.58**), while the reranking model excels in various text retrieval scenarios. **Comprehensive Flexibility**: The Qwen3 Embedding series offers a full spectrum of sizes (from 0.6B to 8B) for both embedding and…

SocialJev is a family of classification foundation models for the social sciences, inspired by TypeSafe’s Jev. The models combine the flexibility of modern language models pretrained on trillions of tokens of text with the speed of lightweight NLP methods. Define your task through a simple typed interface and SocialJev returns typed outputs. Note: SocialJev is under active development. Interfaces may change between early releases. The model can be used directly through Transformers without installing the SocialJev package: Results are ordered first by document, then by query for that document. Each result provides.choice and.probabilities; the probabilities above are illustrative. The…

Native MLX conversion of ewin-reg/WeMM-Embedding-2B-Quantized — the hybrid FP8-protected attention + group-16 INT4 checkpoint — that preserves its mixed-precision allocation instead of flattening everything to one precision. The source checkpoint is curvature-guided: it deliberately keeps the precision-sensitive path at ~8-bit (FP8 E4M3) and compresses only the quantization-robust masses to INT4. Uniform 4-bit quantization destroys that — the source README itself documents softmax attention collapse (DKL >= 7.50) when Q/K go to 4 bits. This build mirrors the Two deviations from the source, both improvements or forced by MLX: - 8-bit group-64 is finer than the source's per-tensor-scalar FP8…
