This catalog is developed for use with the Siril 1.4 series as a public reference database. Hugging Face is one of several mirrors used to distribute the data. This database is provided for both offline download and also for online access. This dataset is provided for scientific and reproducibility purposes.
This is an extract of the Gaia DR3 catalog optimized for spectrophotometric color calibration. The catalog is indexed at HEALpix level 8 and selects up to the 127 brightest sources in each level 8 HEALpixel, though in many HEALpixels the number is limited by the Gaia sources that have xp_sampled records available. However this strategy ensures an even density of stars, providing sufficient stars for color calibration while avoiding overpopulation of the catalog in densely populated regions of the sky. The catalog is provided as 48 data files, each covering a level 1 HEALpixel indicated by the final number in the filename. The database format is specified here https://zenodo.org/records/14697486

Do not confuse this with the GAIA agent benchmark: siril-spcc/gaia is an astronomy catalog, an extract of the Gaia DR3 star survey optimized for spectrophotometric color calibration in the Siril 1.4 software. It is 22.4 GB in 52 files — 48 data files, one per level-1 HEALpixel — at 427.4k monthly downloads, GPL-3.0, last updated 2026-03-02. HEALpix level 8 indexing keeps up to the 127 brightest sources per pixel so calibration stars stay evenly spread across the sky.
For ML teams this is reference data, not training corpora — unless you are building astrophotometry tooling, in which case note the card's format specification lives on Zenodo and Hugging Face is only one of several distribution mirrors. The GPL-3.0 choice matters if you embed the catalog in a distributed product: copyleft obligations travel with the database. Who should download it: Siril users and astronomy developers. Everyone else can skip the 22.4 GB.
