Runs On

What it takes to serve chronos-t5-tiny (8M parameters): the memory its weights need at each precision, and the cheapest way to rent enough data-center GPUs to hold them.

Memory is the weights at that precision plus 20% for the runtime and a short context; a long context needs more. Prices are the lowest on-demand hourly rates in the SAVRN Index, read Sep 18, 2026.

SAVRN's Notes on chronos-t5-tiny

Amazon's own page points past this model: the Chronos-Bolt line released Nov 27, 2024 reports 5 percent lower error, up to 250 times the speed and 20 times the memory efficiency at the same size. The case for chronos-t5-tiny is narrow. It is the original Chronos design, a T5 model with a 4,096-entry vocabulary, 8M parameters, a 33.8 MB download and memory that rounds to 0.0 GB. The cheapest setup we track, one 192 GB MI300X at $1.85 per hour on demand, is overkill.

Apache 2.0 means commercial use, modification and redistribution with notices kept, changes stated and a patent grant included, so nothing in the license adds cost. Check that the older design is what you want, since the publisher has since shipped Bolt; that your history fits, since the file lists no context length; and the run cost, since no Index host prices it per token.
