Open-Weight Models

An open-weight model is an AI model whose trained weights are published for anyone to download. The weights are what the model learned in training. With a copy of them you can run the model on hardware you control and train it further on your own data.

Open weights are not the same as open source. Many publishers release the weights without the training data or code, and the license sets what you may do with the model. This library puts each model's full card, architecture, files, license and published evaluations on one page.

ESMFold is a state-of-the-art end-to-end protein folding model based on an ESM-2 backbone. It does not require any lookup or MSA step, and therefore does not require any external databases to be present in order to make predictions. As a result, inference time is very significantly faster than AlphaFold2. For details on the model architecture and training, please refer to the accompanying paper. If you're interested in using ESMFold in practice, please check out the associated tutorial notebook.

Update Feb 14, 2025: Chronos-Bolt models are now available on Amazon SageMaker JumpStart! Check out the tutorial notebook to learn how to deploy Chronos endpoints for production use in a few lines of code. Chronos-Bolt is a family of pretrained time series forecasting models which can be used for zero-shot forecasting. It is based on the T5 encoder-decoder architecture and has been trained on nearly 100 billion time series observations. It chunks the historical time series context into patches of multiple observations, which are then input into the encoder. The decoder then uses these representations to directly generate quantile forecasts across multiple future steps—a method known as…

w2v-bert-2.0

AI at Meta

We are open-sourcing our Conformer-based W2v-BERT 2.0 speech encoder as described in Section 3.2.1 of the paper, which is at the core of our Seamless models. This model was pre-trained on 4.5M hours of unlabeled audio data covering more than 143 languages. It requires finetuning to be used for downstream tasks such as Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), or Audio Classification. This model and its training are supported by Transformers, more on it in the docs. This is a bare checkpoint without any modeling head, and thus requires finetuning to be used for downstream tasks such as ASR. You can however use it to extract audio embeddings from the top layer with this code snippet: To learn more…

Kimi-K3

Moonshot AI

Kimi K3 is an open-weight, native multimodal agentic model and our most capable model to date. It is a 2.8T-parameter model built on Kimi Delta Attention (KDA) and Attention Residuals (AttnRes), with native vision capabilities and a 1-million-token context window. It is the world's first open 3T-class model, designed for frontier intelligence across long-horizon coding, knowledge work, and reasoning. All Kimi K3 results are obtained with reasoning effort set to 'max' and temperature = 1.0. For single-step tasks, such as GPQA Diamond, HLE-Full, and vision benchmarks without tools, we set top-p = 0.95; for agentic tasks, we set top-p = 1.0. For HLE-Full, MMMU-Pro, CharXiv (RQ), MathVision…

fashion-clip

Patrick John Chia

UPDATE (10/03/23): We have updated the model! We found that laion/CLIP-ViT-B-32-laion2B-s34B-b79K checkpoint (thanks Bin!) worked better than original OpenAI CLIP on Fashion. We thus fine-tune a newer (and better!) version of FashionCLIP (henceforth FashionCLIP 2.0), while keeping the architecture the same. We postulate that the perofrmance gains afforded by laion/CLIP-ViT-B-32-laion2B-s34B-b79K are due to the increased training data (5x OpenAI CLIP data). Our thesis, however, remains the same -- fine-tuning laion/CLIP on our fashion dataset improved zero-shot perofrmance across our benchmarks. See the below table comparing weighted macro F1 score across models. FashionCLIP is a CLIP-based…

SAM 3 is a unified foundation model for promptable segmentation in images and videos. It can detect, segment, and track objects using text or visual prompts such as points, boxes, and masks. Compared to its predecessor SAM 2, SAM 3 introduces the ability to exhaustively segment all instances of an open-vocabulary concept specified by a short text phrase or exemplars. Unlike prior work, SAM 3 can handle a vastly larger set of open-vocabulary prompts. It achieves 75-80% of human performance on our new SA-CO benchmark which contains 270K unique concepts, over 50 times more than existing benchmarks. The official code is publicly released in the sam3 repo. SAM3 performs Promptable Concept…

SigLIP model pre-trained on WebLi at resolution 224x224. It was introduced in the paper Sigmoid Loss for Language Image Pre-Training by Zhai et al. and first released in this repository. Disclaimer: The team releasing SigLIP did not write a model card for this model so this model card has been written by the Hugging Face team. SigLIP is CLIP, a multimodal model, with a better loss function. The sigmoid loss operates solely on image-text pairs and does not require a global view of the pairwise similarities for normalization. This allows further scaling up the batch size, while also performing better at smaller batch sizes. A TLDR of SigLIP by one of the authors can be found here. You can use…

Voxtral-Mini-4B-Realtime-2602

Voxtral Mini 4B Realtime 2602 is a multilingual, realtime speech-transcription model and among the first open-source solutions to achieve accuracy comparable to offline systems with a delay of = 3600 / 0.8 = 45000. In theory, you should be able to record with no limit; in practice, pre-allocations of RoPE parameters among other things limits --max-model-len. For the best user experience, we recommend to simply instantiate vLLM with the default parameters which will automatically set a maximum model length of 131072 (~ca. 3h).

Models that fit on one accelerator

Models whose publisher-reported parameter count puts them within reach of a single accelerator at common precisions. Memory needed depends on precision and serving configuration, so treat the parameter count as the starting point, not the answer.

Open-Weight Models Explained

What is an open-weight model?

An AI model whose trained weights are published for anyone to download, so it can be run, tested and fine-tuned on hardware the user controls.

Is an open-weight model the same as open source?

Not always. Open weights means the trained model can be downloaded. Open source usually also means the training code and data are available and the license allows broad reuse. Many open-weight models release the weights only.

Can I use an open-weight model commercially?

It depends on the license. Apache 2.0 and MIT allow commercial use. Other licenses limit it, for example to non-commercial use or below a set number of users. Every model page here shows its license.

How much memory does an open-weight model need?

About two bytes per parameter at 16-bit precision, so a 7-billion-parameter model needs roughly 14 GB for its weights, plus memory for the context it processes. Each model page lists its parameter count and the size of its files.
