What Cogent does, and what this map holds

Internet service provider operating a fiber network, selling dedicated internet access, IP transit, ethernet and optical transport, plus colocation in its own facilities. It also does colocation, optical transport, IP transit. This map identifies 73 data centers operated by Cogent across 28 states and 60 cities. Its largest presence is California, with 14 buildings.

After California, Cogent has the most data centers in Texas (6), Florida (5), New York (5), Ohio (5), New Jersey (4). Each state below links to that state's own page, which carries every operator in it, the grid operator, and the moratorium, water and delay record that applies there.

Disclosure is uneven and this page does not paper over it. 55 of the 73 publish a floor area, and 3 publish a power figure. Each figure is shown against the building it belongs to and never added into a single total, because operators do not measure the same thing: one states the floor area of one hall, another the full capacity of a campus it has only announced.
