Price history
How every price the Index tracks has moved since Sep 10, 2026: GPU cloud hours, frontier and open model APIs, and colocation by market. Each market is shown two ways: the median price a buyer sees, and a same-item price index that moves only when a seller changes a price.
Which AI prices are moving
Each line is a price index: 100 on the first day the Index priced that market, then moved only by sellers changing the price of something already tracked. A new model or a new offer joining the set never moves it.
Price index by market
First day = 100. Above 100, the same things cost more than they did; below 100, less.
| Market | Since | Median then | Median now | Index | 7 days | 30 days | All time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GPU cloud 117 prices, per GPU-hour |
Sep 10, 2026 | $6.23 | $6.00 | 104.3 | +0.2% | +3.6% | +4.3% |
| Frontier models 270 prices, output per million tokens |
Sep 10, 2026 | $9.50 | $3.50 | 100.0 | 0% | 0% | 0% |
| Open models 276 prices, output per million tokens |
Sep 10, 2026 | $0.88 | $0.95 | 99.6 | −0.6% | −0.3% | −0.4% |
| Colocation 16 prices, AI factory, all-in per kW-month |
Oct 10, 2026 | $277.03 | $277.03 | 100.0 | 0% | 0% | 0% |
| Landlord lease 29 prices, per kW-month |
Sep 10, 2026 | $155.60 | $155.60 | 100.0 | 0% | 0% | 0% |
| Wholesale contract 5 prices, per GPU-hour |
Sep 10, 2026 | $3.96 | $3.96 | 100.0 | 0% | 0% | 0% |
Median then and median now can move while the index stays flat: that is the mix changing (a cheaper model launched, a pricier offer added), not anyone repricing.
GPU prices by the hour, over time
117 published list prices per GPU-hour. Index +4.3% since Sep 10, 2026, +3.6% over the last 30 days. Spot and committed rates are left out so a discount ending does not read as a price rise.
Median list price per GPU-hour, by accelerator
| GPU | Prices | Median then | Median now | 30 days | All time | Median, daily |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA H100 | 38 | $4.04 | $4.17 | +2.8% | +3% | |
| NVIDIA H200 | 22 | $4.55 | $5.33 | +4.8% | +6.1% | |

| AMD Instinct MI325X | 2 | $2.90 | $2.90 | 0% | 0% | |
| AMD Instinct MI355X | 2 | $5.60 | $5.60 | 0% | 0% |
All time is the same-item index for that GPU, so it can differ from the move in the median when providers add or drop offers.

Frontier model API prices, over time
270 model prices per million tokens. Output index 0% since Sep 10, 2026; median output price $9.50 then, $3.50 now. New models launch cheaper than the ones they replace, which pulls the median down without any listed model changing price.
Same-item price index
Output and input, first day = 100.
Median price per million tokens
Across every model tracked that day; moves with the mix.
No model in this market has changed its listed output price since Sep 10, 2026. Every change the Index has recorded.
Open model prices by host, over time
276 model prices per million tokens across every host the Index reads. Output index −0.4% since Sep 10, 2026; median output price $0.88 then, $0.95 now.

Colocation and power prices, over time
16 markets, each priced every day from the same data as colocation pricing by market: rent, cooling, delivered power built from the utility's filed tariff, and add-ons. Tracked since Oct 10, 2026. When a tariff is re-read, the change publishes once a second check sees it, and lands in price changes with the filing.
All-in price per kW of IT per month, by market
Year 1, landlord-delivered cooling. Rent, power and add-ons stacked.
Markets marked * use a neighboring market's rents.
All-in price over time
12 days so far; the line fills in as tariffs and rents are re-read.
Delivered power against the state and U.S. average
Lines are EIA monthly averages from Form 861M, 2010 to Jul 2026, preliminary from 2025: every customer in the state, not a 25 MW load. The copper point is the SAVRN tariff stack for that market.

How the history is built
Every price, every day
The tracker reads each source several times a day and keeps every read. A price counts from the day it was confirmed. A changed price on a provider's page publishes only when a second check sees it again; a move over 20% waits for a person.
Median
The middle price across everything tracked in a market that day. It is what a buyer scanning the market sees, so it moves when the mix moves.
Same-item index
Only items priced on both days count, so launches and withdrawals never move it. 100 on the first day. This is the Jevons index statistical agencies use for elementary price indexes.
Method breaks
When how a market is priced changes, the day is marked on its charts and the earlier points are left as they were published.
- 2026-09-11, Live price checks begin. Before this day every price is SAVRN's September 10 research capture; from it, the tracker re-reads every source several times a day.
- 2026-10-10, Colocation method v1. Delivered power rebuilt from each utility's filed tariff for a 25 MW load at 85% load factor, replacing a flat market power rate. High-density = 50 kW x 20 racks; AI factory = 250 kW x 40 racks.
Seven references, one system
Capital, delay, policy, water, grid, permits and scarcity are one system seen from seven sides. Each reference is primary-sourced, refreshed on a schedule, and links into the others, so a project can be followed from the money committed to the docket that stopped it.
