What Apache License 2.0 Allows

The Apache License 2.0 is a permissive open-source license. It permits commercial use, modification and redistribution. It requires keeping the license and copyright notices and any NOTICE file, stating significant changes, and it includes an express patent grant from contributors. Read the license text.

SAVRN's Take

Apache 2.0 asks little of the operator. Commercial use, modification and redistribution are all permitted. What it requires is housekeeping: keep the license and copyright notices, carry any NOTICE file along with the weights, and state the significant changes if you pass a modified version on. It also includes an express patent grant from contributors, the clause a procurement reviewer looks for before a model serves paying customers. So an organization can take the files from the publisher, fine-tune on its own data, run the result in its own facility and bill for the output.

On our hub 1,018 models carry this license. Qwen leads with 81, Google 50, Convergent Intelligence 39, PyTorch Image Models 32, OpenMed 31, Helsinki-NLP Research Group 27, and Unsloth AI and PaddlePaddle 22 each. Text generation accounts for 164 of the models, image and text to text for 89, and robotics for 43, so it covers more than chat.

Downloads show where it runs. all-MiniLM-L6-v2 from Sentence Transformers, a 23M parameter sentence similarity model, pulls 255,050,544 downloads a month and needs 0.1 GB at 16-bit, small enough to ride on a GPU already serving. ms-marco-MiniLM-L6-v2 follows at 88,642,387 for text ranking. The one text generation model in the top eight is Qwen3-0.6B at 22,498,727 downloads a month: 752M parameters, a 40,960 token context, 1.8 GB at 16-bit, and the cheapest host on the Index for it is one MI300X at $1.85 an hour.

Sanskrit-322M-Base

Sr Aivante

Sanskrit-322M-Base is a 322-million-parameter Sanskrit language model trained from scratch with its own 32,000-token SentencePiece Unigram tokenizer. It is intended for Sanskrit text completion, generation experiments, and further task-specific fine-tuning. This is a base pretrained model: it predicts the continuation of text. It has not been instruction-tuned or trained as a conversational assistant. It uses a Llama-compatible decoder architecture; its weights were initialized and trained independently, rather than adapted from a pretrained Llama checkpoint. Published by sraivante under the Apache License 2.0. The tokenizer uses identity normalization, byte fallback, and SentencePiece…

The paper asks whether a pretrained large model can be converted into a smaller sibling instead of training the small size from scratch. These checkpoints are the endpoints of matched-budget recovery races: every arm gets the same target shape, data order, schedule, and token budget, and only the starting weights differ. Zulfah

Semantic-Lite-2 is a lightweight multilingual sentence embedding model that produces 256-dimensional semantic vectors. It is designed for semantic search, sentence similarity, clustering, retrieval, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) tasks. The model is built on top of the Spark-X2.5-1.7B backbone using a frozen-backbone plus trainable-projection-head approach. The 256-dimensional output keeps vector storage compact while preserving strong retrieval quality. Vectors are L2-normalized, so cosine similarity is computed as a simple dot product. Fabryka AI

Experimental 149,333,081-parameter English causal model trained from scratch. 26 layers, hidden width 576, FFN 2496, 9 query heads / 3 KV heads, tied 24,576-token byte-level BPE vocabulary, QK normalization and value residuals. Architecture informed by Qwen3 and AltSlate's Apache-2.0 Jugnu recipe; no Jugnu weights reused. This is a separate experiment from SlayerLab/Slayer149, which remains available. Training may still be in progress. See reports/status.json, training metrics and checkpoint manifests. No leaderboard rank or winning result is claimed. The final full GLINT-derived evaluation is reports/evaluation.json, when present. Competitor scores may use different evaluation conventions.…

SlimSAM (nielsr/slimsam-77-uniform) in ONNX for transformers.js, like Xenova/slimsam-77-uniform — whose image encoder files are reused here unchanged — but with a prompt encoder / mask decoder that takes box prompts. Xenova/slimsam-77-uniform's decoder declares no inputboxes, and transformers.js drops inputs a session does not declare, so a box passed to it is silently ignored. This decoder follows Meta's own SAM ONNX convention instead: a box is two extra points in inputpoints, labelled 2 (top-left corner) and 3 (bottom-right corner). Inputs and outputs keep transformers.js's names, so SamModel / SamProcessor drive it unchanged. One rule the caller must follow: a prompt without a box…

These are weight-only FP8 kernels for NVIDIA Volta (V100, SM70). They serve checkpoints whose weights are E4M3 with one power-of-two (UE8M0) scale per 32 × 32 block, the dense format of DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash (weightblocksize: [32, 32], scalefmt: ue8m0). Volta has no FP8 tensor cores, so the weights stay FP8 in memory and are expanded to FP16 inside the kernels. Weight memory falls from 2 bytes per parameter (FP16 dequantization) to 1.0625 bytes. For DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash's per-layer dense set at TP4, decode-size products (1–16 rows) run 9–36% faster than FP16 weights with cuBLAS. Individual projections vary (see Results). This repository is a distribution of a patch series for 1Cat-vLLM, the…

No model graded another model anywhere in producing these numbers. 705 filings. On filings published before the base model's training cutoff it scores 95.2% (94.7% to 95.5%), against 96.9% (96.5% to 97.3%) after it. That difference is the contamination gap, reported and never used as the headline. static quants of https://huggingface.co/Peter-A-P/smallprint-2b For a convenient overview and download list, visit our model page for this model. weighted/imatrix quants seem not to be available (by me) at this time. If they do not show up a week or so after the static ones, I have probably not planned for them. Feel free to request them by opening a Community Discussion. If you are unsure how to use GGUF files, refer to one of TheBloke's READMEs for more details, including on how to concatenate multi-part files. (sorted by size, not necessarily quality. IQ-quants are often preferable over similar sized non-IQ quants) Here is a handy graph by ikawrakow comparing some lower-quality quant And…
