The finding

What the build-out changed in Ohio

Ohio is building power faster than most states, and the jobs data shows it. Commercial electricity sales, the class that includes data centers, are +15.3% year to date, 2nd in the country. Electrical contractor jobs, the trade every data center, substation and plant needs first, grew 37.0% from 2019 to 2025, 7th in the country. Data processing and hosting jobs grew 56.4% from 2019 to 2025, 10th of 46 states that disclose the industry. Pushback is organized: the SAVRN trackers hold 105 local moratoria or restrictions in Ohio, 2nd in the country. Factory employment is the exception: manufacturing jobs are -1.8% against August 2019.
