What the build-out changed in Iowa

Iowa is in the middle of the pack, with a few sharp signals worth watching. Commercial electricity sales, the class that includes data centers, are +3.1% year to date, 13th in the country. Electrical contractor jobs, the trade every data center, substation and plant needs first, grew 25.6% from 2019 to 2025, 15th in the country. Construction employment is +10.7% against August 2019, 32nd of 48 states where BLS publishes it.
