ScaleNav

by YihuiYang Yangyihui/ScaleNav

ScaleNav is an open-weight model for robotics from YihuiYang, released under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0. It has 5B parameters. At 16-bit it needs about 12 GB of GPU memory, which fits on 1x MI300X from $1.85 an hour, at the lowest prices in the SAVRN Index.

Runs On

What it takes to serve ScaleNav (5B parameters): the memory its weights need at each precision, and the cheapest way to rent enough data-center GPUs to hold them.

Memory is the weights at that precision plus 20% for the runtime and a short context; a long context needs more. Prices are the lowest on-demand hourly rates in the SAVRN Index, read Oct 22, 2026.

Questions About ScaleNav

How much GPU memory does ScaleNav need?

About 12 GB at 16-bit and 3 GB at 4-bit: the weights (5B parameters) plus a working margin. A long context needs more.

What is the cheapest GPU to run ScaleNav on?

At 16-bit, 1x MI300X from $1.85 an hour; at 4-bit, 1x MI300X from $1.85 an hour, at the lowest on-demand prices the SAVRN Index lists.

Can I use ScaleNav commercially?

Not without separate permission. ScaleNav is released under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0. CC BY-NC 4.0 permits sharing and adapting with credit for non-commercial purposes only. Commercial use needs separate permission from the rights holder.

MolmoAct2-Pretrain

Ai2

MolmoAct2-Pretrain adapts the Molmo2-ER vision-language backbone into a discrete autoregressive robot policy while keeping the Molmo2 token interface. Robot state is represented with discrete state tokens, and future one-second actions are represented with OpenFAST action tokens. This checkpoint is the pre-trained VLA backbone before the continuous flow-matching action expert is attached. It is intended for further post-training or fine-tuning, not direct continuous-control inference. Use this checkpoint for further MolmoAct2 training stages. It was converted with addactionexpert=false, so predictaction(...) is intentionally unavailable. Standard Transformers generation can still be used…

MolmoAct2 fine-tuned with LeRobot (lerobot commit c13d79e6e350c589babc5b7c5cf5ef05cb0fa58e), exported from /home/sakakibara/bachelorthesis/outputs/train/molmoact2yamspellceateceasyftcontinuousgpu220261008232437/checkpoints/008000/pretrainedmodel (trainer step 8000). LoRA adapters are merged; weights are float32. normstats.json holds the normalization statistics of the fine-tuning run under yamdualmolmoact2. lerobotcheckpoint/ holds the LeRobot policy config, training config, and processor files (no weights); exportmanifest.json records the source checkpoint hash and the export verification. Loading with dtype=torch.bfloat16 rounds the merged weights and loses much of the fine-tuning update.
