What the build-out changed in New York

New York is in the middle of the pack, with a few sharp signals worth watching. 17,026 MW of data center load is waiting in New York's grid queues, 4th of the 11 states where SAVRN tracks data center queue load. The data center industry now accounts for 2.1% of New York's economy, the 19th largest share of any state (the median state is 1.8%), counting the industry's in-state suppliers and payrolls. Power and communication line construction jobs grew 29.3% from 2019 to 2025 (17th of 44). Households pay part of the cost: residential prices are +13.0% year to date, the 5th fastest increase of 51.
